San Antonio...Just the Two of Us!

Corey and I had an amazing weekend.  This is the first time we've gotten away together, just the two of us, in a long time.  (I don't count Santa Fe since we both had stomach bugs!).  Thanks so much to our wonderful families for allowing us to go.  Everyone pitched in to take care of our babies while we were gone....my mom and dad, Corey's parents, Aunt Carrie (who kept Matthew the whole weekend!), Dan and Lydia!    I think we need to try and do this more often, we came back so refreshed and reconnected.  Thanks again family!  Corey and I drove to San Antonio on Friday, we escaped the snow and ice.  That night we walked the river walk and at dinnner there.  The next day we got up and went to the Guenter House to have breakfast which was wonderful.  After that we were off to fiesta texas where we acted like kids and had a blast riding the roller-coasters and other rides.  I guess you are showing your age when you wake up the next morning and your neck is sore from the rides!  :)  Then we went shopping at an outdoor mall.  After that we went to a popular and wonderful restaurant on the river walk for a romantic evening.  We somehow got into this restaurant without reservations and even got to sit right on the river walk.  The weekend went by so fast, but we had a great time.  I think this is the first time we've been in a picture together for at least a year!!

Fun in Muleshoe!

These are pictures from weekend before last.  Corey went with his friends to Ozona to go rock crawling.  They had a great time taking their jeeps up some very rugged terrain.  Corey was impressed with how well his jeep did, unfortunately Corey forgot the camera so there aren't any pictures.  Me and the babies went to Muleshoe to hang out for the weekend.  We enjoyed spending time with all of the grandparents!

Plumber's crack!

Pappaw let Matthew go outside first thing in the morning...he was only in his pj's until I brought out his coat and shoes!   Matthew's word for outside is "E-ow, E-ow"

Family Time

I guess everyone is getting tired of hearing how happy I am to have Corey at home with us on the weekends and evenings for a while...but I am so thankful.  Imagine going almost 3 years with our schedule:  I get up and go to work before Corey gets up and by the time I get home he is gone.  We would see each other in the mornings of the weekend and two afternoons per week.  Then we had two babies on top if it all...needless to say it has been difficult on us (especially me) being apart that much.  Me and the babies are just so thankful for this time even though it will end in a few weeks.  This week and weekend it was just me and Corey and the kids.  We had a great time just hanging out as a family.
On Saturday I went to a baby shower of one of my best friends.  Page had her baby Jackson Reese on Monday, he was born early at 33 weeks and 5 days, but he did GREAT!  He needed some help breathing at first, but now he is breathing on his own and even getting to nurse 2 times per day.  He has moved out of the NICU to the "grower room," where he will be until he is able to eat by himself for the usual 8-10 feedings per day.  Page is just glowing as a mom.  She is one of those women who has always known that God wanted her to be a mommy.  She had to go through a lot to get pregnant so we are so thankful that Jackson is going to be okay.  I got to hold him on Saturday and he is just perfect.  One of my favorite things now to see is the transformation that takes place in a new daddy.  I have seen it twice with Corey and it was great to see it with my friend Jon.
Sunday morning we went to church with our good friends Jon and Page.  We felt right at home there and will most likely continue going to this new church.  Matthew had fun playing in the nursery with the other kids.  Later we took Matthew to the science spectrum and petting zoo.  He had a blast and did not want to leave.  He loved all of the animals and was not scared of them at all.  He actually tried to climb into the pen with the camels!

...For whatever reason this blog never posted, so it is going up a week or so late.  Jackson is now happy and healthy at home!

Playing with Brayden

The highlight of our week was when Brayden, Katie, and Marlie came to visit us.  Brayden and Matthew are only 2 months apart and had a great time playing with each other.  Well, they really played alongside each other rather than with each other...but it was fun anyway.  It is always good to see Katie, and I'm so glad we were able to visit.  Katie and Marlie got to meet Cambell for the first time, and I don't think she was ever NOT being held that day!

Growing up so fast.  This is a cute little outfit that was Ella's (Amanda gave them to us!) when she was a baby.  She looks good in brown!  2 1/2 months old!  She weighs 9lbs 11oz.

This was Matthew's first time to play on his new toy!

Brayden teaching Matthew how to climb up the slide.

EVERYTHING is a toy!

Me and Matthew had a great time playing in the box together.  He thought it was pretty funny when his momma climbed inside the box and closed it up.  We would close the doors and he would wait a few seconds and yell "ope" which means open.  Fun!  Fun!

Fun Weekend!

We had a very fun, very busy weekend.   Saturday morning we got up early (well, we do that every morning!) and got the kids ready and went to Plainview with Dan.  He had a house he wanted to show us.  We were finally very pleased with the house, it was nice and within our price range.  That is a picture of it below.  We also had a chance to drive by the site of the new clinic...it is still dirt.  Hopefully the city council is going to approve the plans tomorrow and the actual building will get underway.  We plan to open August 1st, but it seems now that it will be a bit later!
We got home just in time to take Matthew to a birthday party at Jumping Jungle.  We  brought the camera in anticipation of Matthew having a blast on all of the bouncy blow up equipment.  Instead, he was terrified.  He found a basketball and kicked it around the whole time.  He did eat lunch in true Matthew style, having 3 pieces of Pizza and out eating his mom!
Then we were home and got to get ready for Corey's birthday party.  Corey just turned 30 and I had a birthday party for him at our house.  Some of his good friends were able to attend and even drove several hours to come spend time with him.  Our families were a tremendous help and really didn't leave much for me to do.  We enjoyed great food and time with friends and family!  Matthew also had a blast with the kids that came.

Busy Weekend!

We had a great weekend...number one reason is because we got to spend it as a family, usually Corey works every weekend. We are so happy to have him free on the weekend and also in the evenings! Me, Matthew and Cambell went to Muleshoe on Friday evening and spent the day with all of the grandparents! We are so glad we are always welcome in their homes!! Corey and I went to look for houses with Dan Saturday morning while Mammaw and Grandma Dawn watched the babies. We continue to be disapointed in what we find as far as home there, but I know God has a plan for us and we will find someplace safe for our family that is comfortable and affordable. We are very glad to have Dan helping us out, he is great at his job. We also drove by the clinic site...it seems like they've been moving dirt for ever! I don't think we'll open on schedule! We had a fun evening just hanging out with Grandma Dawn and Grampa Roger and Mammaw Donna and Pappaw Don. Cambell is fussy every evening, I guess it is what people refer to when a baby is "colicky." I don't like that word for some reason, not sure why....anyway....Pappaw Don has a way with Cambell. He can sit in the rocking chair with her and she calms down immediately. I think he should come live with us until she outgrows it! Matthew had a great time as always! He played at the store and outside (we've been blessed with some beautiful weather lately!). Cambell is getting more and more interactive and we finally caught that elusive smile on camera!

Happy Girl! It must not be 6pm yet!

Enjoying the fresh air!

Working so hard. This is the wheel barrow that me andMorgan used when we were little to "help" mom and daddy dig the hole for the swimming pool!

Not too happy that I'm not letting him swim in the dog's water bowl!
